Olivia McCoy

Originally from Bethesda, MD, Olivia’s love for performance began early with her classical ballet training at the Maryland Youth Ballet School. As part of her continued work with the DC Dance Collective, Olivia built a strong background in modern, jazz, and hip hop disciplines. University of New Orleans and Tulane University collegiate dance teams continued to fuel her passion and discipline as she made her way to New Orleans full time. 
 
Olivia is no stranger to the stage, commanding lead and ensemble roles in numerous Jefferson Performing Arts Society productions over the years. After the pandemic, Olivia began to shift her focus off the stage and nurse her creativity with choreography, local performances and events, and helping to empower The Jamettes Krewe dancers as Head Empress of Dance!
 
Olivia believes dance is for all bodies and all abilities. She has loved being able to work closely with the Jamettes Krewe to explore what movement looks and feels like to each individual dancer, and how to translate that movement into incredible prize winning performances!
